OUGD504DP - Web Scamp Crit

 Final scamps

Based on the feedback I received in the sheets above, I developed a new layout which has a modified navigation system from Scamp 2 and the image layout from Scamp 11. This was suggested in the feedback however I did not want to simply take the advice directly as I felt the two design layouts clashed.

Instead of having an extra button and page for the image gallery of the website, I have chosen to have the home page as the main image gallery. This adds to the impact of the website and acts as a constant aesthetic whenever the home page is visited form other pages.

A grid layout from Scamp 10 felt appropriate as I have a large volume of information to fit into a website that I do not want users scrolling on. Other than the blog based "Whats on" page I would prefer if users did not have to scroll. I have made a slight error in that I have designed these scamps to a high screen resolution for Mac Monitors, I feel I can rectify this by bringing in the margins of the page.

I asked the colour question simply to judge what peoples reactions were in associating colour to a heritage website when there is only grayscale information on the sheet in front of them. I decided to create the scamp templates in greyscale for this reason also. I feel that green would work well initially, however there is going to have to be an investigation into Roman, Heritage, Historical and nature based colour palettes.
