OUGD504 - Print based media

To develop a much faster and space effective way of documenting images of innovative print based media I have created a Pinterest board.

"The yearly showcase festival's identity uses a few set elements (logo, typeface) and tries to interpret them in different ways. In 2012, big cardboard boxes became important identity carriers – they were seen on stage, marking venues around town and even worn by some visitors.

The Stationary-set-layout of the products allow us to identify the shapes and layouts used for the branding. The colours and typography play a huge role in this form of branding due to its location when in use. The busy festival environment could prove distracting and
visuals can be lost however the clear and simplistic swatch systems which are put in place are effective in making the branding stand out.

Whenever I pin something on Pinterest or reblog on Tumblr, I email the original designer to inform them.

Pablo Funcia

Using the shapes of the packaging to an ecological advantage is smart and not only does the product stand out on the displays in store, the imagery of the product will help sell on a screen based format.
